Super Ride Thursday

Let me just say this, “A bad ride is still better than…”  Well, you fill in the blanks.

Today was one of those days.  The sun was out, the air was warm and there was little, if no wind.  A perfect day to ride.

Six of us, lead by Juan V. headed out of WC for a ‘casual’ ride that ended up being a sprint-fest.  We pushed hard all the way to the Embreeville Mill were we turned around an headed back to WC.  Three riders went home via Brandywine Creek/Northbrook as the other three climbed Groundhog College.  We all met at Broad Run and Northbrook Roads.  From there we just flat-out hammered home.

With speeds reaching 25 mph on the flats, our goal was to finish at the top of 842 with a 17 mph avg..  Well, due to some fast riding at the bottom of 842 and a serious push over the last 300 meters, our avg. speed ranged from 16.7 to 17.7 mph.  No too shabby for a late afternoon ride in April.

Great work!
